In Touch With... Glu (Michael Shuman)

En onder die naam doet hij alles zelf. Geen managers, geen platenlabels, geen grote headlineshows op festivals. Alleen Michael en zijn muziek. "I was just kind of wanting to do new music, and not do the same thing over and over again", legt hij uit. "I wanted to kind off take a different medium, witch includes the computer kind of as my first go to, to create beats, instead of a guitar."

En naast die andere manier van muziek schrijven, doet hij ook de rest zelf. "It's a relieve to do this", vertelt hij aan KINK-dj Jasper Leijdens tijdens KINK IN TOUCH. "It's really nice to be able to do all the things myself." Maar er zit ook een keerzijde aan. "You really do have to hire people to put the songs on the radio. So I was shocked to see that you played it." 

BLOOD RED SHOES, MILES KANE & QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE

Toch lukt het Glu aardig om voet aan de grond te krijgen. Zo toert hij komende zomer door Europa als voorprogramma van Blood Red Shoes en stond hij met Miles Kane op het podium! "Miles is one of my best friends, we've known each other for about 15 years", vertelt Michael. "I have a song that he sang on, and I was lucky enough that he was in town."

En hoewel ook de andere leden van Queens Of The Stone Age hun eigen weg gaan, blijft het contact tussen de bandleden goed. "We text all the time and we're always in contact. We've been doing stuff, and there will be some stuff to come."
