Editors is klaar voor de grootste Nederlandse show ooit: "The Netherlands are a key part of our story"

"For this record it felt time to explore a different kind of palette and we went back to more traditional rock", legt frontman Tom Smith uit. Door de jaren heen blijft Editors proberen om zich te vernieuwen en daarbij moet je volgens Smith reageren op datgene wat je eerder uitgebracht hebt. "We're 45-year-old blokes so it's kind of obvious to sit around with acoustic guitars and go a bit more low tempo", zegt hij. "But you've got to react to what you've done previously. So this one feels quite connected to our fourth and second record. But I'll leave it to the journalists to decide why we've done it."

Editors is duidelijk nog lang niet klaar. Later dit jaar komt niet alleen het nieuwe album uit, er wordt ook toegewerkt naar een Ziggo Dome-show. "I'm very proud of twenty years of making records. We've made stories with different parts of the world and the Netherlands are a key part of that. It's the seventh time we played Pinkpop, which is magic", vertelt de frontman. "It blows our minds a bit that we're announcing our biggest show we've done here. But it's also part of this ongoing story."
